I’ve been rock climbing outdoor once in Maine and a few times in rock gyms. It’s a very inexpensive hobby to get started in as an hour in a local rock gym is only 10-15 dollars. In order to climb on your own you must learn to tie the proper knots and rappel safely.

Figure - Any positive shape or form noticeably separated from the background or, the negative space.
Ground - The surface of a two-dimensional design that acts as the background or surrounding space for the “figures” in the composition.
The contrast of the dark cliff and climber in comparison to the light background makes for a great example of a figure and ground relationship.
