Paragliding
I tried this in 2007 in Interlaken, Switzerland. Basically you go to the top of a mountain with a gently slope and strap yourself to a parachute. The parachute is laid out behind you and as you start running down the slope the air catches in the parachute and picks you up. I floated in the air for about 15 minutes above the town of Interlaken and it was the closest to flying I’ve ever been. The view of the town nestled between 2 bright blue and green lakes and the Swiss Alps was absolutely breathtaking. I also did what is called “rollercoasters” in which you turn the parachute in circles and it picks up speed with each turn so eventually you’re flying quite fast. It cost me about $150 and I don’t think it’s very popular or easy to find in Southeast Pennsylvania.
Psychic line - A mental connection between two points or elements. This occurs when a figure is pointing or looking in a certain direction, which causes the eye to follow toward the intended focus.
Although I’m looking back towards the camera in this photo my body is faced forward, creating a psychic line that causes the viewer to look that same way and imagine what that breathtaking view of the Alps must be like.
